Our Analysis and Test Results

What sets the BEABA Stockholm apart from other bags we tested is how deceptively large it is. Unlike the LeSportsac Ryan, the Stockholm looks like it will hold everything you want to carry, but because of it's size, the contents would be left a jumbled mess. However, the amount of compartments, pockets, and organizational options is impressive. Users will appreciate how far the Stockholm will stretch to fit your valuables without stretching your pocketbook.

Storage and Ease of Use

Overall, we really liked the BEABA Stockholm bag and gave it a score of 7 of 10 in this category. Much like the Skip Hop Forma and OiOi Messenger, its large size and organizational pockets allow us to carry everything we want and still have room to spare. While we really like all of the pockets, it is pretty easy to put something in the bag and forget it is there, simply because it can become hidden from view.

The sturdy zipper closures and magnetic snaps on the side pockets keep our contents from spilling out. We are very impressed with the innovative accordion barrier placed on both sides of the main zipper pocket. This is important because the zippers go all the way to the base of the bag on the main zippered pocket, and without this barrier, your contents will spill out the sides. We had this frustrating issue with the JuJuBe Be Right Back.

Cleaning the BEABA was a breeze. It is easy to wipe off spills on the waterproof canvas and spot treat deeper stains if necessary. In addition to featuring nine pockets, this bag is full of extras including metal feet, a changing mat, anti-bacterial pacifier case, insulated cooler and a dirty laundry bag. We do not think it's a problem that it lacks an exterior compartment for a water bottle, given how many interior pockets it had to offer.

Where the BEABA loses points is in the fact that it cannot stand upright without a substantial amount of contents inside. This is a problem we encountered with several of the bags, including the LeSportsac Ryan. When it comes to keeping the bag looking nice and protecting whatever items are inside, it is essential it be able to stand on its own.

Comfort

This bag earned a 6 of 10 for comfort. At 2.7 lbs., it is the second heaviest bag we tested; only the Storksak Bobby is weightier. The extra weight on the Stockholm can be accounted for in the heavy canvas and polyester fabrics and metal hardware on the bag, which contributes to the overall quality, but the added weight is a problem. Thankfully, the padded, adjustable nylon shoulder strap is easy to use and we like the versatility of being able to use it or the attached handles.

Quality

We are impressed with the quality of this bag and give it an of 8 of 10 for quality. It's detailed stitching, metal hardware, zippered and magnetic snap enclosures all performed excellent under pressure. We found the interior compartments in the bag were able to withstand a considerable amount of force and the elastic did not wear out. We are not big fans of the use of velcro on the outside pocket and wish it was a snap or magnetic closure instead.

We think the Stockholm is right on point in terms of style and give it an 8 of 10 for the category. Bright colors, like those featured on the Petunia Pickle Bottom Sashay Satchel are definitely trending. The neutral canvas juxtaposed against the bright neon handles, shoulder and stroller straps fall in to what we are seeing across the board in the handbag market. We like that it can be worn cross-body or as a handbag/shoulder bag.

Best Applications

The Stockholm is best for those who do not mind the added weight and are looking for a bag that can carry just about anything they want. We found that the capacity is enough that it could even serve as an overnight bag for baby.

Value

Overall, the BEABA is a good value based on our tests. With a mid-range price point of $100, high quality construction and ample space for gear, this bag is a worthwhile investment.

Conclusion

Between all the accessories, style, and durability, this product offers a great bang for your buck. This bag might be just what you're looking for to carry everything you'll need for your kiddos.
