Our Analysis and Test Results
Ease of Use
The Zoe Twin v2 is an affordably priced side-by-side dual stroller that is easy to use and offers a variety of straightforward, simple features that parents will appreciate.
Fold and Unfold
The Zoe does offer a one-motion fold, but due to the stroller's width, it requires two hands. The fold is simple and straightforward: retract the canopies, grab the handle on the center of each seat, and pull upward. The latch will conveniently engage on its own, and the bumper bar can then be used as a carry handle to lift or move.
The no-fuss unfold process is simple: pull the handles out and support the stroller as it snaps into place. You have to support it during the unfolding process because it won't stand independently, but setting the brake provides more stability.
Storage
The storage basket is roomy, but its capacity is limited to 10 lb. The rectangular bin is long and wide, with a thin cord running down the center. While awkward, it doesn't divide it into two compartments. The basket features easy access and some height, so items being loaded up or removed will not hit the bottom of the child's seats, potentially waking up passengers.
There are three cupholders for traveling convenience. The upper holder is large enough to fit an adult's slim metal bottle or standard to-go coffee cup or can (though you shouldn't use it with hot beverages to avoid accidental spills or injuries to passengers below), and there are two smaller ones for passengers. A shallow snack tray can also be inserted, but you do have to remove the belly bar to do this. When reclined, each seat back includes a small pocket that provides quick and easy access to wallets or phones without having to bend down and search through the storage compartment.
Harness
The 5-point harnesses on each seat provide ample padding on the shoulder straps and a unique crotch strap that prevents chaffing of little legs, thanks to its wide width and soft fabric design, instead of the usual stiff webbing material. The chest and the waist straps are connected, so you only need to attach two points to secure the buckle. This unique design feature is the best of both worlds: fewer headaches when buckling, without compromising safety. The buckle requires enough pressure to open it, so toddlers will find it impossible to undo it alone.
Brakes
The Zoe's brakes are single-action, with a bar connecting two pedals. Pushing down on either one results in an audible click, signaling that the brake is engaged. You need to lift the metal bar up with your foot to release the brake. Due to the design, it can be challenging to tell when the brake is engaged. However, releasing the brake was slightly easier on the foot than on other strollers with similar styles.
Maneuverability
This mover cruises along pretty well for a double stroller. Still, when portability and a reasonable price are the design goals, stroller maneuverability usually results in a stroller that prefers flat terrain.
This stroller's 22.6 lb weight helps it cruise easily over smooth surfaces, but it requires two hands to push comfortably. The handlebars adjust for comfort by pushing in the buttons on both sides and tilting up or down.
Even though the Zoe Twin has Disney-approved dimensions, it's important to note that this stroller is very wide, taking up most of the width of a standard sidewalk. It's a tight fit through an average 32" interior doorway. We found it's a little easier if you remove the adult cup holder, but it still barely squeaks through.
Locking the front dual wheels helps provide stability when traveling off smooth terrain. Tackling curbs is challenging with nothing to help boost the stroller but your own strength. The Zoe, with effort, can navigate grasses of various heights and some off-road bumpy terrain, if necessary. Still, it's not designed for that, and passenger comfort is compromised by significant bouncing.
Transporting and Storing
The Zoe Twin is a travel-friendly stroller that is lightweight and relatively flat when folded, making it the perfect cruiser when space is limited.
Weight and Folded Size
At 22.6 lbs and 11,431 cubic square inches, the Zoe Twin weighs much less than most double strollers, is easy to transport, and fits in most standard-size car trunks with room to spare.
Unfortunately, this side-by-side doesn't stand on its own when folded, making it a little challenging while juggling kids and supplies. However, it does help that the belly bar doubles as an excellent handle for holding or picking the stroller up.
Kid Ride
The Zoe Twin offers identical seating for both passengers, although the seat recline, leg rest, and the canopy can be independently adjusted to customize the ride for each child's comfort.
Seat
The side-by-side seating design offers a recline of up to 140 degrees, which is adjusted by pushing a button on the back, pulling the sturdy buckle towards you, and guiding the seat down. To return the seat to its sitting position, push the button and guide the back upright. Easy peasy—there are no catches or awkward maneuvering.
Each leg rest operates independently by pressing the buttons on the sides and lifting or lowering it. The legrests' material feels like cardboard, and there isn't much cushioning, but there is a built-in footrest for growing toddlers.
Sunshade
The sunshades are 50+ UPF fabric and are easily one of the largest canopies we've seen. Each four-panel canopy is large, and when unzipped, the shade length can accommodate a variety of weather.
Each one has a large mesh window held closed by a magnet in the cover flap. If you prefer more airflow or a visual of your passengers, you can use a toggle and latch system to keep the flap up.
Quality
Reflecting the stroller's approachable price tag, none of the materials are considered premium choices, but none will disappoint.
While the fabric looks durable and rip-resistant, nothing on the stroller is the softest, but likewise, nothing would irritate a child's skin. Also, the fabric on the storage area doesn't have much support and appears floppy, something to factor in when loading with supplies. The foam-filled, never-go-flat tires feature nice suspension and offer lockable dual front wheels. In contrast, slightly larger single back tires help this stroller traverse flat surfaces with fluid maneuverability.
The aluminum Zoe Twin frame is solid and sturdy. Folding and unfolding work like a dream, and the bumper bars are connected. The leatherette handlebar has nice, clean lines, but wears quickly, especially in the center where your hands are usually located. Overall, the quality and design are well-thought-out for an affordable dual stroller that will see occasional usage.
Car Seat Compatibility
The Zoe easily adapts to fit a variety of different brands of car seats, including Nuna, Cybex, Britax, Maxi-Cosi, Chicco, and Graco. Adapters for your specific car seat are sold separately on the manufacturer's website.
Ease of Setup
Ranked one of our easiest strollers to set up, the Zoe Twin manual includes written instructions to clarify precisely what is occurring in the images, leading to a fast five-minute set-up. Removing the protective wrapping around the various parts takes most of the time. Once that's completed, install the wheels and pop the canopies, parent cup, and belly bar on. Thanks to the straightforward instructions, the parts all fit together well and easily snap into place.
Twins
The Zoe Twin v2 is one of the most affordable options for families with twins. However, only one infant car seat can be used, so if you want to accommodate two newborns, the Zoe Twin is not for you. However, the toddler seats have an impressive 60 lb weight limit, making them perfect for parents looking for an option that accommodates almost all other ages. The large capacity storage compartment doesn't hold much since it's limited to 10 lbs, but it is roomy. Each child enjoys the same traveling experience with identical features and seats, cutting down on toddler competition.
Expandability
One of the neatest features of the Zoe Twin is its ability to add up to two additional, identical seats. Each extra seat can be purchased separately on the manufacturer's website and quickly turn your dual stroller into a trio or a quad set-up. Adapters to use an infant car seat can also be purchased, allowing new parents to utilize this stroller from day one. The custom capabilities of this mover allow for multiple expansions, all while keeping the overall width of the stroller the same, so it can still navigate doorways and sidewalks.
Should You Buy the Zoe Twin v2?
The Zoe Twin offers a variety of features for parents looking for a basic dual stroller, including giant canopies, ample storage space, easy-to-use seat recline, and an adjustable leg rest. Any parent who's ever tackled the challenge of traveling with more than one child and the extras they require will appreciate the lightweight of this classy cruiser when transporting or storing it. The seating versatility includes the optional usage of a compatible infant car seat and the possibility of adding up to two more full-size seats. We feel that parents looking to go easy on their bank account without the hassle of a heavy, expensive stroller purchase will love the versatility, classy appearance, and portability of the Zoe Twin v2.
What Other Double Stroller Should You Consider?
If you live in a city with narrow sidewalks, frequent stores with smaller aisles, or find barely fitting through doorways on your excursions stressful, the Zoe is not the stroller for you. This stroller is incredibly wide, and while we appreciate the space for kids and the large storage capacity that this affords, it is challenging to navigate in tight spaces or through doorways. If you'd like something with a narrower footprint that is still affordable, we recommend the Evenflo Pivot Xpand Double stroller. While slightly higher in price and not as easily maneuverable, we feel the Xpand more than makes up for that, thanks to its narrow design, which can make some outings more enjoyable.
