PureGuardian H1250 Review

Our Verdict
Our Analysis and Test Results
Guardian Technologies is a small appliance-based company focused on making lives happier and healthier. Their goal is creating innovative products that facilitate healthier home environments. Guardian manufactures air purifiers, UV air sanitizers, humidifiers, essential oil diffusers, and HEPA filters. While unrelated to their products, we love that the company website professes their love of furry family members with an office that is 100% dog-friendly.
Ease of Cleaning
This unit is relatively easy to clean but not as straightforward as some of the competitors.
This unit has a tank with a smaller opening, making it hard to reach your hand inside. You'll need a bottle brush to clean the tank and mist tube, but the tube narrows near the bottom, making it hard to squeeze the brush all the way to the bottom. Some nooks can be challenging to clean, but overall, it isn't too bad. The instructions seem less concerned about sterilization than some of the competition, and we aren't sure if this is due to the materials of the humidifier or if they don't want to dwell on the downside of humidifier ownership.
Effectiveness
The PureGuardian is fairly effective with a strong start that increases the ambient humidity faster than the competition in our tests.
At the one hour mark, this unit was able to create a more humid environment than much of the competition with only four competitors creating a more humid room than the Guardian. Overall, most families will find this product meets their needs.
Noise
The Pure Guardian is louder than the average unit.
This unit registered 43 decibels compared to less than 40 for the quiet competition. It is important to keep in mind that this product is still relatively silent; it is only slightly louder than the rest of the group. It is not as loud as an evaporative humidifier that has a fan-driven technology and creates a significant amount of white noise.
Ease of Use
The Pure Guardian is one of the easiest options to use.
This score is based in large part on the programmability of the humidifier and the easy to decipher user interface on the digital display. This product has an easy to read display with intuitive icons and buttons. It features a humidistat, run timer, auto shutoff, and a nightlight. This option does not have a filter.
The tank is wide enough for filling, but it doesn't have a handle and only stands so-so in the sink with the occasional support required to prevent it from tipping.
