The Born Free bottle we tested is touted as another “anti-colic” bottle. It has a special two part vent system that is place on the rim before you put the cap and nipple on. We didn't notice any less gas in our tester, but as we mentioned in our Buying Advice article, all babies are different! So that leaves us again with the question: “Are all these parts worth it?” In this case, we feel, no. We'd pick a different short and sturdy bottle, like our Best Value award winner, the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature.
We like the wide mouth design of this bottle which makes filling and cleaning easy. Speaking of filling, this bottle gets an A+ for easy-to-read markings! It seems very durable and baby held onto it quite comfortably.
We also love that is BPA and PVC free. Born Free also encourages users to return the bottles for recycling when finished and we think that's great!
We found the extra parts from the anti-colic valve didn't really pull their weight in our test and we'd rather not spend our time washing and assembling them (a which goes up/on top/etc. learning curve).
Although we didn't have any trouble with leaking during feeding, it did drip quite a bit when inverted which was messy. We also noticed those great measures printed on the outside of the bottle began to rub off after just a few washes.
