We found nothing spectacular about The First Years Quick Serve warmer. It lets off a lot of hot steam, and in our opinion, it's too fast and furious to really warm the contents well or safely. It's a small unit, which is nice if you're tight on space, but we really prefer consistency in use and warming, and this model just didn't make the grade.
The Quick Service is space saving. However, 5 of the 7 warmers we tested had relatively small footprints, and every one of them fared much better in our testing than the Quick Serve.
It is recommended that it cools for 10 minutes before another cycle is run, and although it has a timer light (which we do like), there isn't actually an audible beep to end the cycle.
This is a small unit and doesn't properly accommodate extra wide bottles like Tommee Tippee or Comotomo.
Lastly, we are concerned that the warming temperature may be too high, making it all too easy to accidentally overheat breast milk in this warmer. We measured the warming temperature (of the outer bottle, not the milk) and found a temp. of 177 F (81 C), which suggests that breastmilk inside the bottle could be warmer than desired. Studies have shown that breast milk quality deteriorates rapidly if milk temperatures are significantly above 104 F / 40 C for a sustained period of time, and we feel this warmer presents a risk with regard to breast milk quality loss.
This warmer scored lowest in our testing. It just wasn't easy to get consistent results and we don't have time for constant guessing and adjustments.
