Our Verdict

The Luna Lullaby offers a comfortable L shaped design that has extra pillow support in the curve of the pillow for baby's head. The shape of the Lullaby is good for mothers of various sizes, or those who don't like feeling confined in a pillow during nursing. The cover is ultra-soft and machine washable, and the pillow is plush but somewhat compressible. This pillow tries to provide extra head support, but it does little to boost support while feeding. While the size and shape are nice, the higher price and the lack of support make it an option not suited to families on a budget or mothers with longer or shorter torsos.

Nursing Comfort

Luna Lullaby provides the most arm support out of the options we reviewed. It fits larger women well unlike circle designs, and we think it would be a potential contender for nursing twins. Some smaller testers had a difficult time with this Luna as it can feel like “too much” pillow for petite users. Also, the pillow lost support as the baby grew and became more active during feeding slipping away from mom's body and requiring constant adjustments.

Ease of Use

Like the comma-shape of some competitors, this pillow can be put in place and removed in a matter of seconds because it doesn't wrap around the sides of the body. However, this shape impacts where you can comfortably feed because the sides are so long that they often push into the backs of chairs or couches or don't fit at all.

The length of the Luna Lullaby is almost too much for a smaller framed women to sit comfortably while nursing. This causes most women to sit on the edge of their chair in order to nurse comfortably. Furthermore, it lacks back support or a belt to make a snugger fit.

Materials

The Luna Lullaby is very plush for the baby and mom and comes with the softest cover. The cover material is perfect for cool weather nursing thanks to the synthetic fibers that almost create a fleece feel. The pillow is nicely put together for years of use through multiple children.

Ease of Cleaning

The Luna Lullaby can be challenging to clean, and it didn't perform as well as the competition in this metric. The shell repels liquid moderately but if left unattended on the shell it takes at least five minutes to fully dry, and this can make for some wet feedings.

luna lullaby - putting the luna lullaby pillow back together after cleaning is...
Putting the Luna Lullaby pillow back together after cleaning is trickier than it appears because materials within the pillow bunch up, causing the pillow to change shape easily.

Also, only the cover is machine washable, and the cover must be laid flat to dry. After cleaning and drying the pillow took almost 5 minutes to get back into the cover and shaped correctly. Therefore, the entire cleaning process and getting the pillow ready for use took nearly 5 hours which is an excessive amount of time for a product that you need to use every 3-4 hours.
